One of the institutes run by Shri Sharada Bhavan Society is named as Narayanrao Chavan Law College named after veteran freedom fighter, thinker, skilled judge, visionary legend and Marathwada jewel, Shri Narayanrao Bhauraoji Chavan.

Born on 23rd May 1911 in Paithan, Shri Narayanraoji is the second son of the four sons and two daughters of Shri Bhaurao Rukmaji Chavan and Smt.Laxmibai Bhaurao Chavan. Bhaurao Chavan was an agriculturist but he educated Narayanraoji at Osmania University, Hyderabad for Graduation Program (B.Sc.) and at Madras University, Madras for the bachelor's degree in Law (LLB).

In 1947, he had joined the Pleaders Protest Committee against the Nizam State of Hyderabad. After the re-organization of the Nizam State, Narayanraoji migrated to Marathwada. He worked as Judge at different places in Maharashtra such as Kolhapur, Nagpur, Sholapur, Aurangabad and retired as District and Session Judge from Akola on 23rd May 1969. After retirement, he worked on Revenue Tribunal at Aurangabad in 1975. He was honoured by being appointed as the President of Maharashtra Revenue Tribunal at Mumbai from 14 July 1976 to 31 December 1977. He was appointed as school and junior college tribunal judge at Aurangabad. He also worked as judge for University tribunals at Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad and at the Universities of Amravati and Nagpur. He had effectively delivered judgement in variety of cases till 19th Feb.1991. He headed many enquiry committees from 1979 to 1983 at various Universities. He was also the Chancellor's Nominee on Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad for staff Selection. He was a member of 'Maharashtra State Khaadi Gramodyog' Council and Igramdan' for Maharashtra State. Narayanraoji had served the judiciary throughout his life and played a pivoting role in the Hyderabad Freedom Struggle. He was an academician who wanted everyone to be educated for individual growth and social progress. The society, which started as a planting turned into a huge tree today. The Law College is being named after such a legendary and visionary giant and in the true sense the college is honoured in all respect.


The college is located in prime area of the city. It has its own separate Building with spacious & technologically well equipped class rooms with digital Board & projectors.

The college has an independent building for library & reading. There is separate reading room for girls. The college is having a big & beautiful library with more than 32,000 law books including text books, commentaries, law journals, periodicals, reports of law commissions. The college is also providing computer lab with internet facility in library for the students so as to access required & latest / updated information.

The college is recognized as Research Centre in Law affiliated to Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded. Special facilities of library, extension lecturers, assistance & information etc. are provided to research students.

The college conducts & also participate in social activities to retain moral values as well as to practically learn law & its working. The college regularly organizes legal aid camps to provide free legal advice to the poor & needy people. The college associate with Dist. Legal Services Authority Nanded to organize legal literacy campaign.

The college periodically organizes seminars & guest lectures of renowned personalities from legal fraternity. It also organizes Blood Donation camp every year on 11th March, while celebrating birthday of former principal & the real founder of this college Dr. B.N. Chavan Sir.

The college also organizes JMFC coaching classes without charging any cost. It helps the students to prepare & achieve good success in university & competitive exams.

Teacher –guardian scheme is also introduced through which the parents are given regular feedback about their word's performance in the class tests, attendance etc. Parents Meetings are organized regularly.

The college has different games and sports facilities such as Table Tennis, Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Basketball, Volley ball, Cricket, Net Ball etc. and a well equipped Gymnasium.

The college is the study centre of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik for M.Lib. & Information Science PG programme.

The qualified & experienced teaching staff members are striving hard to give their best.
